Building a business starts with taking care of yourself, as Gary Vaynerchuk said in his TED Talk “ask yourself WHAT DO I WANT TO DO EVERY DAY FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE?” and then go and DO THAT! You only have one life and you get to play this game once. We promise you that you can monetize your passions and skills whatever they might be. There are limittles oportunitites if you belive in yourself, you work hard and you know and love what you are doing.

Start with what you love and build your personal brand around it, live it, breathe it and be obessed with it. This is how I started my business — SHE Leads Company network to help women realise their full potential and help start business. I am borderline obsessed with closing the gender gap in business and access to finance for women. I make sure that we go above and beyond to ensure our network can support growth of female businesses. It’s not always easy. We have a lot of successes and at the same times we had to overcome many challenges.

Every new idea that disturbs current state is accepted with with joy and support by some and met with harsh and critical judgements by others. In my coaching works, I see brave men and women every day making huge changes in theri lifes. Many say ‘bye’ to their corporate lifes and start their own businesses. Most of the time their are being faced with challenges such as rejection, lack of support form “frineds” and family.

I then always tell them a story about Mother Theresa, story that deeply inspired me when I was starting my first business and made me look at things from a different angle. The sotry goes like this: One day Mother Teresa went to a local bakery to ask for bread for the starving people she was taking care of. The baker, outraged at people begging for bread in front of his backery and disturbing the clients, spat in her face and refused. Mother Teresa calmly took out her handkerchief, wiped the spit from her face and said to the baker, “Okay, that was for me. Now what about the bread?” The baker, shamed by her response, gave her the bread she wanted.

So the question you have to ask yourself now — is can you handle the spit? Is your business idea bigger than you? Is it build on strong foundations that will not crumble under the pressure and challenges you will be faced with. ARE YOU DOING WHAT YOU LOVE?
